Cadence

Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 September 2026

Cadence is operated by Mayur Kakade, India. This explains what we hold, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we hold your account details, the music you upload, and what is needed to bill you — and we do not sell any of it or use it for advertising.

What we collect

WhatWhy
Name and email addressTo create your account, sign you in, and email you about the account
Password (hashed, never readable)To sign you in
The audio files you upload, and details read from them such as title, artist, album, duration and formatTo store your library and play it back
Playlists, play counts and playback positionSo your library behaves the same on each of your devices
Devices signed in to your accountSo you can see and remove them
Storage used, plan, subscription status, invoicesTo apply your allowance and show your billing history
Technical logs, including IP address and error reportsTo keep the service running and to prevent abuse

We do not collect contacts, location, advertising identifiers, or anything from your device beyond the files you choose to add.

Payment details

We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Payments are processed by Razorpay, and only the outcome comes back to us — whether a payment succeeded, the amount, and identifiers for the subscription and invoice. Razorpay's handling of your payment data is covered by their own privacy policy.

Your music stays yours

Every account is sealed. Your files are stored under your own account and are never shared with another user, never made public, and never deduplicated against anybody else's copies — two people who upload the same recording each hold their own complete copy. There is no way for another user to see, hear, or receive anything you have uploaded.

We do not listen to, analyse, or mine your music, and we do not use it to train anything.

Who we share with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of providers to run the service, each with access only to what their job needs:

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to deal with a valid copyright complaint about a specific file.

How long we keep things

We keep your data while your account is open. If you delete your account, your audio and library records are removed. Records we are required to retain — chiefly invoices and tax records — are kept for as long as Indian law requires.

If an account is untouched for 24 months we treat it as dormant and email you. You then have at least 90 days, with reminders, before anything is removed. Signing in at any point stops this.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, never in a readable form. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Playback links are short-lived and specific to your account. Email verification uses a code you type into the app rather than a link, so there is no URL in your inbox to be intercepted or spoofed.

No system is perfectly secure. Please keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable.

Your choices

Children

Cadence is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes materially we will say so by email or in the app before it takes effect.

Questions, or a request about your data: sales@mayurkakade.com. See the contact page for full details.
